You’ve made it to AP Season! Make sure to wish your Big Sibs good luck!! Speaking of AP's, hopefully you got the ones you signed up for in the first wave of AP course selections, otherwise, try talking to the Assistant Principals of the departments whose AP's you tried getting into.
As some of you may have seen via your stuy.edu emails, the first wave of elective course selections are out! Remember, that you need to take at least two science electives to graduate Stuy, so if you can, try to take those early! There is a plethora electives in other subjects as well, don't worry! Talk to your Big Sibs, they can help guide you to find the right courses for you and give you insight on workload/teachers/difficulty of each of the classes. Note: the Google form for sign ups closes on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 11:59PM, so get those in. Also, AP Music Theory selections are still being made (students who are accepted will be notified separately next week). Best of luck!
Report cards will be distributed on Tuesday, May 10. Remember that second marking period grades are usually a little bit lower, and they only serve as a progress report. These grades DO NOT stay on your transcript, only third marking period grades do; so if you're doing well, keep it up, otherwise, don't worry, there is PLENTY of time to improve. Ask your Big Sibs for tips!
There is also an SLT Meeting on Tuesday, May 10th in room 107! Feel free to stop by and listen to what is going on and changing at Stuyvesant. Get involved :)
We're almost at the finish line!! There is only about a month of classes left! Classes end June 13 and the regents schedule can be found here
Finish the year off strong, and remember: don’t be afraid to reach out to your Big Sibs if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to the help!! And guess what?! A whole new wave of Big Sibs will be coming in soon! We are in the process of interviewing a record number of applicants. Good luck to all of you applying and we can't wait for the coming year :D
